Light Horseman (c) 14 Jul 2005. The Australian Light Horse had its origin in Queensland in 1860. It has an intense history far to detailed to mention fully here. Mainly remembered for its gallant service in WW1. In 1981 it was renamed the 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment (Queensland Mounted Infantry). In June 1986 the Regiment became integrated with the regular army and army reserve unit. Uniform: Hat, khaki fir felt, Emu Plume, Hat badge, Puggaree, and Chinstrap. Bandoleer, Waist belt, Breeches Bedford Cord, Leggings, Spurs, Boots. Gun: SMLE MK III with khaki or leather sling. The rifle bucket is attached to the offside of the saddle rear arch passing the attaching strap from front to rear The Horse has an extra hemp rope, water bucket & nose bag.
